Welcome to my studio!

I am a creative at heart : a wordsmith, painter and all-round curiousity chaser. I've been pursuing art all my life, but painting entered my life in 2018, first as therapy and then as a serious pursuit of study.

I have been trained in oil painting by the Evolve Artist School, and have made oil painting the mainstay of my portfolio - although I also enjoy working in Charcoal, Watercolour and Gouache.

As I established my art practice, I took on my grandmother's name - Meenakshi and along with my initials - Mina Vee Fine Art was born.

My fine art practice is an ode to my love for storytelling and connection. I am inspired by the old masters' from Caravaggio and Raja Ravi Varma to the Impressionists, notably Anders Zorn. I strive to combine learnings from my study of the craft, imagination and my reflections on the world to create transportive moments on canvas.

My art centres on expressive realism with a focus on chiaroscuro and painterly mark making, portraying life with just a touch of magic.

I have found the best stories start with the storyteller and finish in my imagination. I invite you to engage with the marks I make on canvas, and together, we can spin stories of beauty and connection about this strange thing we call life.
